Inspire Me Monday: Angry Birds- Red Bird

Kelly from DevilishPolish has come up with Inspire Me Monday where you create a manicure based on something that inspires you.  You then post your manicure, along with a picture of your inspiration, on Mondays.  My inspiration today is the Red Angry Bird.
Image from Google
I bought a cute Angry Birds stamping plate on Ebay.  This plate has images of six birds, one pig, and one slingshot.  It is marked KD4.  I was so excited to try this plate out!  The first bird I tried was the Red Bird, of course.
I started off with Sinful Colors Basecoat.  I then applied two coats of Love My Nails Seductive Red.  Seductive Red is a true red color that I thought would be perfect for the Red Angry Bird.
When my nails dried, I stamped on the Red Angry Bird using image plate KD4 and Wet N Wild’s Black Crème nail polish.  I finished off with N.Y.C.’s Grand Central Station.
This manicure was fun to wear.  I am happy I bought this plate.  I really enjoy playing Angry Birds, so of course I was excited to be able to stamp some Angry Birds fun onto my nails!  Be sure to check out DevilishPolish where you can see some great manicures and join in on the Inspire Me Monday fun.

Pure Ice Vinyl Remix Recap

Overall I am very happy the Pure Ice Vinyl Remix collection.  There are nice colors to choose from.  It is fun to come up with different looks using these polishes.  They are great to wear alone or together.
Shown is Pure Ice Vinyl Remix in Vintage Remix, DJ Spinner, Emcee Me, and Rave over Sinful Colors Basecoat and no top coat.

What I like most about these polishes is that you save the step of adding various colors underneath your crackle polish, because these polishes crack and change colors as they dry.  It is very amusing to watch for the first time.  These polishes are easy to work with and will get your nails noticed.

These polishes add a new twist to crackle polish.  They make using crackle polish quick and easy.  Keep a look out for the Pure Ice Vinyl Remix collection at Wal-Mart.  They are available starting now in May.

Pure Ice Vinyl Remix Vintage Remix

Pure Ice Vinyl Remix Vintage Remix is another polish included in Pure Ice’s Vinyl Remix collection.  Vintage Remix is a purple polish.  Along with Vintage Remix, you get the Platinum Magic Base Coat, a vinyl record shaped nail file, and a free song download.
I started with L.A. Colors base coat-top coat.  I then applied one coat of the Platinum Magic Base Coat.
After the Platinum Magic Base Coat was dry, I used Vintage Remix to create several “V” shapes down each of my nails.
When this was dry, I added a clear coat of N.Y.C.’s Grand Central Station.
I really love purple and black together.  I also like the effect created by brushing the “V” shapes onto my nails.  Since I did several “V” shapes, I got thinner cracks.  Fewer “V” shapes probably would have had larger cracks.  I like the versatility of the Vinyl Remix nail polishes.  I have gotten many compliments on my nails with these polishes.

Pure Ice Vinyl Remix DJ Spinner

Happy Mother's Day
DJ Spinner is part of Pure Ice’s Vinyl Remix collection of nail polish.  It is a green polish.  This set, like the others in this collection, includes a Platinum Magic Base Coat, a Vinyl Remix polish, a nail file shaped like a vinyl record, and a free song download.
I painted my nails with L.A. Colors base coat-top coat.  I then painted on one coat of Platinum Magic Base Coat.
When the Platinum Magic Base Coat dried, I used DJ Spinner to create heart shapes on my pinky and thumb.  I also used DJ Spinner to paint on the word “MOM” on my middle fingers.
I topped it all off with a coat of N.Y.C.’s Grand Central Station.
I love how these nails turned out and the simplicity of creating the look.  DJ Spinner is a nice shade of green that goes well with the black.  I am very happy with these polishes.

Pure Ice Vinyl Remix Emcee Me

Emcee Me is another polish in the Pure Ice Vinyl Remix collection.  Emcee Me is a yellow polish.  This set includes the Platinum Magic Base Coat, Vinyl Remix polish Emcee Me, a vinyl record shaped nail file, and a free song download.
I started out with L.A. Colors base coat-top coat.  I then applied one coat of the white Platinum Magic Base Coat.
When this was dry, I painted an “X” on all of my nails using Emcee Me.  Emcee Me went on black and as it dried, the polish turned yellow with black crackle on top.
I finished off with a top coat of N.Y.C.’s Grand Central Station.
Pure Ice Vinyl Remix Emcee Me is very easy to work with.  You can effortlessly get a dramatic look on your nails.  Changing your brush strokes changes the look you get on your nails.  This, paired with the color changing black polish, makes painting your nails with Pure Ice Vinyl Remix a lot of fun!

Pure Ice Vinyl Remix Rave

Pure Ice has created a DJ inspired nail polish collection called Vinyl Remix.  There are six sets included in this collection.  Each set includes a Platinum base coat, a Vinyl Remix polish, a nail file shaped like a vinyl record, and a free song download.
All of the sets look like they have a white and a black nail polish.  The white platinum base coat is the same; however the black polish changes into a color with black crackle on top.  The color depends on which of the Vinyl Remix sets you have.  Today I have Pure Ice’s Vinyl Remix nail polish in Rave.  Rave is an orange polish.
I started out with Sinful Colors Basecoat.  I then applied the Pure Ice Platinum Magic Base Coat.  The Platinum Magic Base Coat is a thick white polish that went on easily and dried quickly.
When this was dry, I begin to paint my nails with Rave.  The polish cracks differently depending on the brush strokes you use.  As the polish dries it begins to crack and change colors.  It is interesting to watch and a ton of fun creating different looks!  On my left hand I brushed an “S” shape onto the middle of my nails a few times.  I then filled in the sides with diagonal lines from the outer part of my nails toward the “S” shaped center.  I topped it off with N.Y.C.’s Grand Central Station.
I decided to play around with different brush strokes on my right hand.  Since I am right-handed, I had to paint the nails on my right hand with my left hand.  Despite this, the nails on my right hand turned out looking good.  It just goes to show how easy it is to create nail art with Pure Ice’s Vinyl Remix polishes!

On my thumb I did the same brush strokes as I did on my left hand.  I used diagonal brush strokes on my pointer.  I did horizontal brush strokes on my middle finger which made me think of tiger stripes when it dried.  I did three small circles on my ring finger, and for my pinky, I did vertical brush strokes.

I had a lot of fun using these nail polishes! It was simple to do and you end up with a great looking design.  Pure Ice Vinyl Remix will be available at Wal-Mart now in May.
